There were many side activities at the Blacktown Relay for Life.
They ranged from raffles, chocolate wheels and guessing competitions, to a jumping castle, knick-knack and craft stalls, food stalls and live entertainment.
A Miss Relay competition was also held, which drew seven men onto the stage to show off their feminine side.
During the night, a candlelight ceremony was held to remember those who had lost their battles with cancer. The vigil was followed by a fireworks display.
``The weekend has been an overwhelming success,'' said Blacktown Relay For Life chairman Peter Filmer.
``We hit our target of raising $1million in Blacktown for the Cancer Council in the event's seven-year history here.
``We also had a lot of new faces and teams participating this year, which is always pleasing to see.''
