Community safety their watchword

17 Nov, 2009 09:58 AM
MEMBERS of Kings Langley Neighbourhood Watch are so serious about community safety they have organised their own information expo to spread the word.

The event will be held at the Jim Southee Community Hall on James Cook Drive, Kings Langley, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm tomorrow.

Group co-ordinator Derek Margerison said the expo gave residents the chance to meet and speak with representatives from about 14 organisations.

It will include representatives from the police, St John Ambulance Brigade, State Emergency Service, Bunnings, Norwest, Commonwealth Bank, Blacktown Aquatic Centre, NSW Fire Brigades, Blacktown Police Citizens Youth Club, Common Groundz Community Cafe, Kings Langley Lions Club and Blacktown Council.

Mr Margerison said his Neighbourhood Watch had organised the expo to deal with the increase in house breaking and theft in Kings Langley.

``Entry is free. Come along and bring your friends. Coffee and tea are available for a small gold coin donation.''
