NINE films to help promote greater understanding of Aboriginal people will be screened near Blacktown on June 26 and 27.
They are the 1955's classic, Jedda, the documentary, The Intervention:Katherine, NT, and seven latest films by Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander film-makers.
The seven are Nana, directed by Warwick Thornton, Storytime by Jub Clerc, Green Bush by Warwick Thornton,Bollywood Dreaming by Cornel Ozies, Payback by Warwick Thornton, Mimi by Warwick Thornton and Yolngu Guya Djammirr by Frank Djirrimbilwy.
Reel Black Film Fest is presented by Penrith Performing & Visual Arts, National Film & Sound Archive and Marella: The Hidden Mission.
Free admission for those keen to watch all the films at Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith.
The first screening on Friday June 26 is for primary and high school students. School staff should contact Victoria on 4723 7612 for booking and program information.
Special screening of Jedda is from 1pm to 2.40pm and the documentary, The Intervention:Katherine, NT, is from 4pm to 5.15pm on Saturday June 27.
The other seven films are from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on the same night.
