SINGER-SONGWRITER Allan Caswell will perform at the Royal Cricketers Arms in Prospect this Saturday night.

Caswell, who has Golden Guitar awards, is known to many as the man who composed the theme song for the TV series Prisoner, the aptly titled On The Inside.

There are more than 900 songs Caswell has written.

Caswell says more than 500 of these songs have been recorded, not only by himself but by many great artists.

They include Cilla Black, The Irish Rovers, Patti Page, Slim Dusty, James Blundell and The Living End.

Caswell's career has taken him to almost every town in NSW and to every state in Australia, as well as to New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Caswell has won six Golden Guitars and has been a finalist on 28 occasions.

He also has achieved two gold albums and won an ARIA award for On The Inside.

And there are also his four gold albums and one platinum albums for his writing and production work on the highly successful children's albums of Don Spencer.

His work with Spencer has led Caswell to pass on his writing skills to young people in juvenile detention and special schools in Sydney with The Australian Children's Music Foundation. He says is one of the most rewarding and exciting aspects of his career.

At the Cricketers Arms, Caswell will play from 7.30pm.

The Royal Cricketers Arms is in Cricketers Arms Road.
