HAVING already fulfilled her first dream of becoming a lawyer, Dina Bit-David has set her sights on her second agenda: to become a world famous singer.
The 29-year-old Woodcroft barrister will fly to Finland next month to compete as Australia's entrant in the Karaoke World Championships.
She won the Australian title in Melbourne last week.
``I love to sing and wouldn't say no to becoming a international singer,'' Ms Bit-David said.
``The championship is an opportunity to perform in front of an international audience, gain exposure and further my entertainment ambitions.''
Ms Bit-David specialises in renditions of Rescue Me and I Will Always Love You.
The championships will be held on September 11 and 12.
Ms Bit-David won a return flight with five nights' accommodation and $2000 spending money to compete against singers from around the world.
``I'll be taking my number one fan, my mum Jenia, for this big one,'' she said.
``She is my lucky charm and was with me in Melbourne when I won.
``My family has installed a new karaoke machine at home for me to practise five songs for the
contest.''
Her achievements also include winning the 2001 Australian Winter Sun Karaoke Contest and taking part in Channel Nine's Star Struck talent competition as Madonna.
Now in its seventh year, the Karaoke World Championships attract interest from more than 30 countries.
Australians have won the international title three times. Current reigning karaoke world champion is Michael Bates from Adelaide.
