NEW Medicare services are now available at Centrelink Blacktown on First Avenue.
The online services are in addition to those offered at the Medicare office in Blacktown's Westpoint Shopping Centre at Patrick Street.
Customers can do most of their Medicare transactions on eight computers, including lodging some of their Medicare claims, updating their details and requesting new Medicare cards.
They can also get online services for some child-support services, including updating their details, checking payment dates and amounts and reading letters.
The Minister for Human Services, Tanya Plibersek, said this was the first time services offered by both Centrelink and Medicare were available in one place for Blacktown residents.
"Staff members will help people register for the self-service facilities at Centrelink which a short distance from Blacktown station," she said.
She also said customers now had the added benefit of Medicare online services being available next to their usual Centrelink services.
Customers wanting to claim Medicare rebates electronically using online services should bring their bank account details with them when they visit the office.
Customers can register their bank account with Medicare: 132 011 or medicareaustralia.gov.au or take their bank details into the Medicare office.
