Unfortunately, the Workers have mostly looked on as their opponents set them.

The hosts won the toss and batted first and Blacktown had them 1-19.

But from there all hope was dispatched to the boundary.

Usman Khawaja and Matthew Frith shared a record first-wicket partnership of 250 and, though it was a limited 50-overs match, the range of strokes was unlimited.

Dashing young NSW Sheffield Shield player Khawaja scored 116 and Frith 128 as the hosts went to 5-328.

Gurinder Sandhu took 3-37 but the other Blacktown bowlers were just smashed.

That 5-328 was always going to be a total way too far but Blacktown had one bit of good news.

Captain Paul Maraziotis's 55 took him to 10,675 first-grade runs, and he is now in the all-time top 10.

Otherwise, it was a black day as Blacktown were dismissed for 214 in just 44.1 overs.

Meanwhile, Randwick-Petersham seconds won with three balls to spare, and Blacktown were well beaten in thirds and fourths.

Blacktown fifths remain the club's shining light.

They scored their fourth successive win and are still in the finals race.

Sixths won on a forfeit.
