CAMPAIGNERS against domestic violence are reaching out to women, men and children needing help on December4, Stop Domestic Violence Day.
The Outer West Domestic Violence Network is organising community-awareness activities for that day in Stanhope Gardens and Emerton.
Quakers Hill Family Centre worker Christa Anthony said: ``We're having collages in different shapes, like a heart or people holding hands, where people can write their names in support.
``They can also write a message. We're going to have information telling people what services they can go to.''
Ms Anthony said it was a sad fact Blacktown local government area had one of the highest rates of domestic violence in NSW.
She said domestic violence services had operated in western Sydney for many years but some people still were unaware of them.
She said women suffering abuse at home could explain their situation and services such as the Quakers Hill Family Centre could step in.
``There's a program to help women and the children stay in the home, while the perpetrator is removed. We also have a multicultural worker who specialises in talking to different communities.''
Stop Domestic Violence Day activities on December4 are at Emerton Village Shopping Centre, Jersey Road, from 9am to 11am, and at Stanhope Gardens Shopping Village, Sentry Drive, from 2pm to 4pm.
It is run by the Quakers Hill Family Centre, the Blacktown Family Relationships Centre and Mount Druitt's Family Violence and Domestic Violence Court Assistance services.
