FRESH from their series of shows at the annual Tamworth country music festival, The Pigs are aiming to get down and dirty at The Mean Fiddler on Sunday.
The Pigs claim to be a family of talented, yet confused hillbillies, who just happen to play super-charged instruments.
While in Tamworth, they took the opportunity to launch their latest album, Horses.
Combining country music and comedy, these bluegrass-loving yokels went down a treat.
The first single to come from Horses is a rip-snorting version of the Beyonce hit Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), which believe it or not features John Williamson playing the Jaw Harp.
The video for the song, which includes Beyonce-inspired line dancing, has been featured on cable country music network CMC in high rotation.
``We wanted to acquaint people with the original, old-timey version of the tune,'' guitarist Streeetch Pig said.
``You see, my younger brother T-Bone, wrote Single Ladies on his banjo back in 1854.''
The Pigs will assault The Mean Fiddler stage from 3pm on Sunday, February 14.
Entry is free. The venue is on the corner of Windsor and Commercial roads, Rouse Hill.
