IF you have a bit left over from the stimulus package bonus and you've been wanting to give your bathroom's image a bit of a boost here are some creative ideas which won't bust the budget.
Colour injection under $20
Having the bathroom retiled from top to floor can cost thousands of dollars.
While floor tiles can't be painted, wall tiles that are still in good condition can get a colour makeover by using tile paint.
White Knight tile paint can be applied like a normal paint when wall tiles have been pre-primed with the recommended tile and laminate primer.
Available in a wide range of colours, try painting the border or some feature tiles in a bold, contrasting shade.
New generation spray-surface finishes such as Plasti-kote tile paint can provide a professional looking high-gloss finish to dated and discoloured looking wall tiles.
A primer isn't needed, just ensure the tiles have been cleaned with a tile cleaner and allow to dry before application.
The tile paint can then be sprayed on with light sweeping strokes from side to side.
Leave for 24 hours to thoroughly dry.
Plasti-kote tile paint spray-on formula is available in white, cream and black colours and costs $19.95 for a 310gram can.

Orga nise under $100
A well organised bathroom looks infinitely more spacious and welcoming than one that is cluttered with hair and beauty products and towels littering the floor. Firstly, regularly check the expiry dates on beauty products.
Mascara usually only has a shelf life of around three months and oil-free foundation up to a year.
Use old takeaway containers to organise hair and beauty products, with the earliest expiry date at the front and store in cabinets under or above the vanity.
If there is little cabinet space, a portable shower caddy may be worth investing in.
For an easy, tidy fix, an over-the-door towel rail can make the most of tight bathrooms by using the vacant space behind the door.
Howards Storage World's Over The Door towel rail is $59.95 and a water resistant Bamboo Shower Caddy is $99.

Create a shower feature for under $250
Mosaics are nothing new but are the latest trend for modern bathrooms as a feature wall.
Whether as a shower wall or above-the-vanity feature, coloured mosaic tiles can add a splash of colour and decor interest among white or neutral wall tiles.
Try high gloss primary colours such as red or dark blue and theme it with matching coloured towels.
Mosaic tiles are mostly sold in sheets of 300 x 300 millimetres; eight mosaic sheets are recommended for maximum impact.
With the mesh backing on the mosaic sheets, it is easy to cut sheets in half for a long feature to reach across a wall or from ceiling to floor.
