PLANNING is under way for National Youth Week 2010 and local businesses and organisations are encouraged to get involved.
There will be a sponsorship information evening on Wednesday, September 30, from 6.30pm at the Max Webber Library, Blacktown.
With more than 100 business representatives expected to attend, the night promises to be a great networking opportunity as well as a chance to get involved.
Guests will be treated to live music and a short film about last year's celebrations produced by the students of Rooty Hill High School.
The film profiles the artists, film-makers, co-ordinators and volunteers who worked together to turn young people's ideas into reality.
The main event of next year's Youth Week celebrations will be The Burbs Festival at Blacktown Showground on April 18.
It will feature three stages of live music, a circus sideshow, food and youth information stalls, a 30-metre aerosol art wall, skate ramps, games and competitions.
Businesses interested in attending the sponsorship information evening are encouraged to register their interest to council's youth development worker on 98396086.
Max Webber Library is on the corner of Alpha Street and Flushcombe Road, Blacktown.
