Workers nurture their prickly side

BREAK Thru Employment Solutions believes men's health affects their employability as much as any economic factor.

That is why four senior employees from its Blacktown head office are growing their moustaches in support of the annual Movember fund-raiser for men's health.

Movember started in 2003 and has raised $60million to fight prostate cancer and depression in men.

Break Thru program excellence manager Simon Fairall said the agency had a long history helping job-seekers with health problems. ``Some of our big programs deal with intellectual disabilities, physical injuries and other health concerns,'' he said.

Break Thru's marketing manager Fayssal Sari said prostate cancer and depression in men were important problems. ``We take a very broad view, which makes us unique as an employment agency,'' he said.

The men are competing to see who can grow the thickest moustache and beard by November30.
