STUDENTS from 10 Blacktown schools won this year's Australian Defence Force's Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork awards.
The schools were: Blacktown Boys High School; Tyndale Christian School in Blacktown; Doonside's Mountain View Adventist College; Riverstone High School; Glenwood High School; Terra Sancta College Junior School in Schofields; Toongabbie Christian School; Mount Druitt's Australian Islamic College; and Chifley College Senior Campus, also in Mount Druitt.
In all, 1897 school students were recognised for their leadership and team work.
Defence forces head Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston said the students demonstrated such skills through their academic achievements, sporting prowess and voluntary work.
