Errey bowled over by cause

27 Oct, 2009 08:37 AM
WES Errey loves his cricket, but the match he'll be playing on Friday really is a labour of love.

The 30-year-old will represent local team the Tigers against Norwest Hurricanes at Bruce Purser Oval, Rouse Hill, in the four-match David Hookes Tribute Series named in honour of the late Australian cricketer, who was also an organ donor. And therein lies the love.

``These matches have become very meaningful to my family,'' Errey said.

``I signed up to play months ago because it's an important cause. We've since learned that my mum needs a kidney transplant.''

Spectators on Friday will also get to see women's international cricketers Lisa Sthalekar and Alex Blackwell in action.

Kings Langley will also play a match at Old Kings Oval, Parramatta, tomorrow as part of the series.
