PRISCILLA Woods plays netball and for variety she plays netball, and when she's bored with that she plays netball, and for something new she plays netball.
And for something completely different, she umpires and coaches netball.
``I love it,'' was the 18-year-old's superfluous explanation yesterday.
Woods' netball CV not only speaks of that love, it screams it.
Started with Quakers Hill at seven, Blacktown association junior and senior representative, state league division four, Blacktown Opens at the state championship...
Now that devotion and passion has been recognised at the top.
NSW selectors chose her in the President's 12 at the end of the recent state championships.
``It's a stepping stone,'' said Woods, who is dreaming the dream of maybe one day being recognised by national league scouts.
Dream come true the President's 12 selection may have been. For her Blacktown state league and Open coach Heather Smith, the one who started her at Quakers Hill, it was merely justice.
``The criteria is for players who are strong team contributors, display a high level of sportsmanship and have not previously been identified in the state's talented-athlete programs,'' Smith said.
``Cill is an absolute ambassador and a worthy recipient.''
Woods can remember her beginning, naturally.
``With Heather at the Quakers Hill courts, with my new netball skirt and a pair of my mum's netball socks,'' she said.
``I can remember that day so clearly.''
Her 2009?
``I really want to take advantage of the awesome team I have been placed in and bring home that blue patch from the state league we can,'' she said.
Woods says she wants to be a primary school teacher, which is apposite, since that seven year old's enthusiasm sounds like it will remain at 27, 37 and 47.
