AMELIA Shortland, 24, was chosen champion lady rider thanks to her mount Copper Sunset when Blacktown Pony Club held an open gymkhana at Shane Park Reserve, Dean Park on Sunday.

Wollondilly visitor Natasha Moss was reserve champion on Just A Country Boy.

The gymkhana included all the disciplines, such as hacking, showjumping and sporting and also had a full program for beginners.

The meeting was the first outing since the pony club's return from Queensland's State Mounted Games at Albion Park.

Fifteen riders in three teams were up against competition that included the Australian team, rated the world's best.
