Swans make park's AFL start

03 Nov, 2009 09:44 AM
SOME of Australia's best will be at Blacktown Olympic Park on February 20 for the first AFL game to be played there.

The likes of Adam Goodes, Daniel Bradshaw and Chris Judd should be there when the Sydney Swans play Carlton in round one of the pre-season NAB Cup.

The game will be broadcast nationwide on Channel 10.

A second NAB Cup game may be played at the park, in Rooty Hill, if the Swans make the semi-finals.

The park will be home to the proposed Greater Western Sydney team in 2012.

``This is a terrific way to bring the elite AFL competition to the greater west of Sydney,'' NSW/ACT AFL general manager Dale Holmes said.

The Swans played the Western Bulldogs before 3000 fans in a trial at Rouse Hill earlier this year.
