Blacktown Leisure Centre turns 10

ALL Blacktown residents have been invited to attend Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope's 10th birthday celebration for 10 days in January and February 2013.

The centre was opened by Olympic Gold medallist, Kieren Perkins on January 31, 2003 a at a ceremony also by Paralympian Alicia Abberly, world sports aerobics champion Lauren Farry and world surfing champion Layne Beachley.

The celebrations will include: an under-18s pool dance party, a dive-in movie, a petting zoo, mini golf and a community open day. There will be free pool entry on February 1. People who make a casual booking for netball, basketball, futsal and badminton will receive a free participation medal during the 10 days of celebration.

Learn to Swim students will also receive a commemorative swimming cap on their first swim school lesson for term 1 and a 10-day membership for $10.
