Project to put smiles on kids' faces

SHOPPERS at a Kings Langley shopping centre recently raised $15,000 for Variety - the Children's Charity.

They did this by decorating the centre's Christmas tree with heart-shaped bauble stickers distributed by retailers.

Centre owner Charter Hall donated an additional $50,000 to Variety, bringing the total donation to $65,000.

The Decorate to Donate campaign run across 35 Charter Hall shopping centres nationally and was part of a centre-wide community celebration over the Christmas period.

Variety CEO David Small said the funds would provide essential equipment to children with special needs across the country and a Sunshine Coach in Queensland.

He was presented with the $65,000 cheque by Charter Hall Retail REIT fund manager Scott Dundas recently. National marketing manager for Charter Hall Samantha Howkins thanked their shoppers and retailers for supporting the special initiative.
