Police in Brief
POLICE have warned residents about the discovery of counterfeit money in Blacktown last Monday.
A spokesman said a fake $100 note was found by Hoyts Cinema staff in Blacktown Westpoint shopping centre.
He advised business people receiving money from sales to check all $100 notes closely.
He said the fake notes could be easily detected when looked at closely as the colour, size, feel and cut are different to a legitimate note.
Stolen bikes
TWO motorcycles were stolen from a house in Blacktown last week.
Police said the Yamaha trail bikes were taken at Dina Beth Avenue between 10pm on January 21 and 4.45am on January 22.
The bikes are described as a blue Yamaha YZ250 and a blue and white Yamaha YZ450.
Vehicle fire
POLICE and firefighters found a burning car in Prospect last week.
They were responding to call of a fire at Clunies Ross Street at 1.15am last Tuesday.
Inquiries revealed the vehicle was stolen from a Greystanes address at 9.30pm on January 21.
Is it your BMX?
POLICE are looking for the owner of a BMX bike recovered in Blacktown.
Police said a good samaritan handed over the bike he found at Pank Parade last Thursday.
The bike is described as blue and cream with a sticker with the word “Roam” on it.

Bag snatched
A MAN snatched a handbag from a woman passenger at Rooty Hill railway station last week.
Police said the woman was getting out of the eastbound train when the incident happened at 9.26am last Thursday.
The man is described as in his early 20s, Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall and thin build.
The man was last seen running into nearby bushland.
Grass was alight
POLICE were called to a grass fire at Lynwood Reserve in Blacktown last week.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters with no damage to any property or structures at Allen Street at 2pm.
A police spokesman appealed to residents to take extra care during the current warm months saying fires could be easily started to cause damages to properties.
Camera taken
A Channel 9 TV camera and other items worth about $10,000 were stolen in Blacktown last week.
The incident happened on the footpath at the corner of Bungarribee Road and Walters Road between 5.15am and 6.10am last Wednesday.
Other electrical items include a monitor, batteries, stands and lighting equipment.
Lock them up
POLICE have reminded motorists to lock their cars and put all valuable items out of sight.
They gave this warning after receiving a report of a theft from a car parked at the Travel Lodge car park at Holbeche Road, Arndell Park between 7am and 2pm last Monday.
