Blacktown City FC put in a solid second round performance as they put Marconi Stallions to the sword at Marconi Stadium with a 3 -1 victory on Saturday evening.
After both sides fought back from behind to claim Round 1 victories it was the visitors who hit the ground running with another penalty from the ever-reliable Travis Major before Matthew Mayora doubled his side’s lead in his second competitive appearance for his new club.
Marconi looked to have found their way back into the match when the home side netted midway through the second period, however any hopes of another comeback were dashed when Luke Clifford rounded off the scoring with Blacktown’s third.
The signs are looking good for Mark Crittenden’s men as his new recruits appear to be combining well with old blood as the side move clear at the top of Pool one with their second consecutive win.
