VIDEO: Penrith Regatta Centre hosts successful state championships

The 2013 NSW Rowing Championships was one of the best regattas Rowing NSW has run in years according to Rowing NSW chief executive officer Christian Renford.

Mr Renford said there was about a 6 per cent increase in the number of participants with every state and territory represented at the event, which was held at the Penrith Regatta Centre last weekend.

“We were very, very happy with how the weekend went,” Mr Renford said.

“We received positive feedback from everyone; participants, spectators and organisers.”

He said the success of the NSW championships, which he described as a good test run, is a good indication of how the Sydney International Rowing Regatta and World Rowing Cup will go in March.

“We put a few of the procedures in place and it was great training for the volunteers and organisers,” he said.
