Community consultation will take place before a local organisation of councils determines its stance on a second airport in western Sydney.
The Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils will embark on a major community consultation campaign to determine views on a second airport at Badgery’s Creek.
President Tony Hadchiti said residents needed to have an important voice in the process.
‘‘It may be that people will think that the potential economic and employment benefits outweigh the potential negatives of air and noise pollution,’’ Cr Hadchiti said.
“Our region has a unique set of opportunities and challenges and it will be interesting to see how residents will view the impact of an airport.’’
