Lalor Park’s Jake Doran has been selected in the Australian under-19 cricket squad to tour New Zealand next month.
The 16-year-old Hills Sports High student will head away as the number one wicket-keeper and one of the top-order batsmen.
Jake is now a permanent member of the Fairfield Liverpool first grade team along with his older brother, Luke, 21.
‘‘I think it’s fanastic for Jake to be selected in the squad for the tour of New Zealand,’’ said Fairfield Liverpool president Richard Cook, of Kings Langley.
‘‘He’s progressed well through our graded ranks and debuted in first grade last season when only 14.’’
Sydney Cricket Association records show he was the second youngest- player to make a first-grade debut.
Australia will play one three-day and three 50-overs matches on the trip, which runs from Marrch 30-April 8.
