Wanderers and Mariners fans reminded to act responsibly at their match on Saturday night.
A-League football fans are being reminded to behave responsibly while attending the top-of-the-table clash between the the Western Sydney Wanderers and the Central Coast Mariners and the Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday night.
A near-capacity crowd of approximately 18,000 is expected to attend the match being held at Bluetongue Stadium, Gosford
Superintendent Daniel Sullivan, Brisbane Water Local Area Commander has urged fans to support their respective teams in a way that doesn’t affect the enjoyment of other spectators.
“This is set to be a great match between the top two teams in the league, but I urge all fans to show respect for each other and for the staff who are there to run the event smoothly.
“Football fans both young and old should be allowed to enjoy the game in a safe environment, but those who engage in anti-social behaviour will find they won’t be tolerated,” Superintendent Sullivan said.
There will be a large police presence in and around the ground including general duties, Operational Support Group (OSG), the Dog Unit and Highway Patrol officers.
Police and security officers will be targeting anti-social behaviour and alcohol-related crime to ensure a safe and fun match for all spectators.
Fans are reminded gates open at 6:45pm with the kick-off scheduled for 7:45pm. They should allow extra travel time with trackwork expected on the Central Coast train line.
