ROUND one has finally arrived. Like a kid waiting for Christmas the boys and I have been counting down the days until the official season gets under way. The pre-season has been superb from a training perspective and the challenges we have faced off it, such as the tragic passing of Johnny Mannah, has only strengthened our bond.
I hear a lot about 2012 being a season we would rather forget, but as far as I am concerned I want it etched into our memories. I don't want our team or supporters to feel that again and remembering last season is a great deterrent.
The match against the Warriors is a great way for us to launch our NRL Premiership campaign. They have a big and physical forward pack and plenty of spark out wide. Much like us they are looking to bounce back after a below-par season last year.
They also welcome a new coach. Matt Elliott is a seasoned campaigner, so I have no doubt he will have his squad ready to go.
Enjoy the match, cheer loudly and most importantly GO PARRA!
