Riverstone will receive more than $19,000 from the state government for community transport services.
Riverstone MP Kevin Conolly said the money would go towards providing safe and reliable transport for those who could not access regular services in areas including Blacktown and the Hawkesbury. Funding recipients in the Riverstone Electorate will include Blacktown Community Transport, Wangary Community Transport and Peppercorn Community Transport.
“This Government is committed to supporting community transport and recognises the integral role community transport providers play in helping residents overcome barriers to access,” Mr Conolly said.
“By funding community transport, we can make sure people who cannot drive themselves have access to their local community and essential services.
‘‘By giving people more transport options, we ensure they don’t feel cut off or isolated from the community.”
Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian said the government had increased its funding to community transport projects by $2 million dollars this financial year.
