Blacktown City business awards launch 

The 2013 Blacktown City Local Business Awards has launched, with votes now being accepted.

The theme for the 2013 awards program is “Everything About You”.

Nominations are now open for a wide range of business categories.

A copy of the 2013 voting coupon is available in the Blacktown Sun.

This is an opportunity for customers to recognize the most outstanding businesses who provide great service.

The 2013 Blacktown City Local Business Awards are made possible with support of Major Sponsors, Blacktown Workers Club and HomeBase Prospect, as well as and Support Sponsors Westpoint Blacktown, Nirimba Business Centre and Rotary Club of Blacktown City. 

The support of these sponsors is integral to the success of the awards, providing an opportunity to local businesses and communities. 

This year’s theme “Everything About You” highlights the interaction between businesses and the community.

The theme focuses on thecontributions that business owners, consumers and community members make to help build a strong local community, create employment opportunities and a build a thriving local economy.

Blacktown City Local Business Awards manager, Steve Loe, said this year’s theme highlighted the impacts that local business had on many different parties; business people, staff, consumers, and communities.

‘‘The Everything About You theme shows that while local business has different meanings depending on perspective, all interpretations are important when looking at the bigger picture,’’ he said.

‘‘Everyone has something to gain from the advancement of local business.”

Finalists for each category are determined by the number of customer nominations.

Customers are encouraged to vote for their favourite business in each category.

Businesses with an outstanding nomination count will be selected as finalists in their nominated category.

A wide and varied range of categories will be available for participation this year.

Only one vote per category can be lodged by each voter. 

All participating voters will go into the running to win the latest Samsung Galaxy Camera.

Voting coupons are available in the Blacktown Sun or for download at www.thebusinessawards.com.au.

Once finalists have been selected, the judging process will start.

Finalists will be evaluated on their ability to excel within a number of service-based principles.

Judging is carried out by industry members and local individuals, and is anonymous.

The Blacktown Sun will also provide regular updates on the progress of the awards.

This will include the announcement of finalists and winners for each area as well as a promotional opportunity for participating businesses to display their success to their local communities.

The awards program will culminate in a presentation evening, where the winners of each category will be announced, as well as the overall winner of the Business of the Year Award.
