Police officer clocked at four times the speed limit

A policeman has been stripped of his licence after being clocked travelling at more than 200km/h through an Eastern Creek industrial estate.

Highway patrol officers detected a Kawasaki motorcycle travelling at more than four times the signposted 50km/h zone on Peter Brock Drive, Eastern Creek, about 2.15pm, Thursday.

The rider of the motorcycle was an off-duty officer, who police said was attached to a command in the north-west of Sydney.

Police Media would not specify which command the officer worked for.

The accused rider was charged with exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h, negligent and dangerous driving.

He will appear in Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday, April 16.

His licence was immediately suspended and registration plates confiscated.
