A man was extradited from New Zealand yesterday to face court over the alleged attempted murder of a man in Blacktown in 2010.
Police said it is alleged the 46-year-old man attended a home in Blacktown where he had an altercation with another male on December 24.
It is further alleged he threw petrol at the man and set him alight.
Following an investigation a man was arrested in New Zealand on December 1 and held in custody before being extradited to NSW and charged at Botany Bay Police Station at 11am yesterday.
He was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with the intent to murder, maliciousl throwing an explosive substance, reckless wounding and other charges.
The man was refused bail and is expected to appear at Waverley Local Court today.
