LOCAL business people regained control of the Riverstone Chamber of Commerce and Industry following the resignation of three office-holders at its annual general meeting on Tuesday night.
Michael Fernandez was elected president, Andrew Southwell vice president, Tracy Adams secretary and Ann Bodziony treasurer.
The new president runs a computer service store, Mr Southwell a print store, Ms Adams a hairdressers and Ms Bodziony an embroidery store.
Former president Anthony Belcastro, who lives in Riverstone but works in Kings Langley, was elected meeting chairman.
He said he was stepping down before the end of his term because of his business commitment.
Mr Fernandez said the new chamber aimed to get some 130 business people in the town to join the organisation and make it stronger to deal with the council, the state government and other organisations.
He said it recently increased its membership from about 10 to 33.
‘‘The chamber will only become more influential when all members are united and speak with one strong voice,’’ Mr Fernandez said.
