A historic primary school in Seven Hills has set up a playgroup to encourage more residents to enrol their children at the school.
Parents will run the playgroup at the 129-year-old school in Beethoven Street each Thursday from 9.30am to 11am.
They will consider extending it to two days if the response is good.
Seven Hills North Public was built in 1883, rebuilt in 2003 and is still affectionately known as the "country school in the middle of the city".
This is due partly to its small size compared with surrounding schools.
The school's playgroup is similar to an OOSH (out of school hours) care centre, which looks after school-aged children before and after school and in holidays.
The P&C supports the move. For more information contact 9624 1275.
