VIDEO: Police release footage of ATM attack

POLICE warned would-be robbers against following the example of two men who used cooking gas and molotov cocktails to blow up two ATM machines in Doonside last month.

Blacktown police crime manager Detective Inspector Adam Wilson said the explosion caused by the mix of incendiary substances was very dangerous to the thieves as well as the community.

Watch Detective Inspector Wilson speaking at a press conference earlier today below:

He believed the two barefooted robbers with covered faces escaped empty-handed after being injured by the explosion outside a bank at the corner of Hill End Road and Graham Street at 12.30am on February 25.

‘‘Surgery GPs or hospital doctors should inform us if they have treated two men for burns,’’ he said.

Inspector Wilson released CCTV images of the incidents to encourage residents to help by giving information.

Watch the CCTV footage below:

The first man was described as having a fair complexion and dark hair. He was wearing a fluoro yellow jumper and black pants and his face was covered.

‘‘The second man also has a fair complexion,’’ Inspector Wilson said.

‘‘He is shown wearing a black hooded-jumper with white writing on the front and knee-length shorts.’’

He said the video showed them arriving in a red Holden or Ford ute.

The men were seen driving away towards the direction of Knox Road.

Anyone with information should contact Blacktown police on 96719199.
