ABOUT a dozen people who claimed to be from the Consumers and Taxpayers Association protested outside Greenway federal MP Michelle Rowland’s electoral office at Seven Hills this afternoon.
They were led by organiser Angela Liati who said Ms Rowland was lying to the voters about the ALP’s achievements.
‘‘Michelle Rowland is saying through her election leaflets she and the government are helping to fund schools and hospitals,’’ she said.
‘‘But it was Tony Abbot as the health minister in the Howard government who placed breast cancer treatment drug Herceptin under PBS and also increased payments to pensioners.
‘‘Labor introduced the carbon tax and caused a rise in power bills.
‘‘The government borrowed money for useless massive projects and caused the country to get into a $200 billion debt.
‘‘The former Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, lied to win the last election and now Kevin Rudd is doing the same.
‘‘The voters must not be fooled again to vote for Rudd and his party.’’
Ms Rowland was not in her office and could not be contacted for comment.
