Police are hunting for a man who escaped from a centre that forms part of Parklea Correctional Centre yesterday afternoon.
Corey Chamberlain, 20, was reported missing from a secured perimeter section of the facility shortly after 5pm.
He is the second man to flee from the facility after Ryan O’Hara who escaped on August 8 and is still missing.
Police attached to Quakers Hill Local Area Command were alerted to the incident and launched an investigation.
Following inquiries, officers were told the man was last seen in the centre about 4pm.
Police continue to search for Chamberlain, with assistance from specialist police, and are appealing for information.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175 cm tall, medium build with brown hair and brown eyes.
He has a tattoo of the word ‘Aussie’ on his lower right forearm and was last seen wearing a green top and pants.
He is also known to frequent the Blacktown and Mount Druitt areas.
Chamberlain was serving a four-year sentence for several offences including aggravated break and enter in company, dishonestly obtaining property by deception and driving offences.
Members of the public should not approach Chamberlain if they come into contact with him, but instead contact triple-0.
