IT must have been good to send the players leaving the club out on a winning note?
Yeah, it was, and for Newto [Clint Newton], Mose [Mose Masoe] and Walshy [Luke Walsh] to score tries in their last game was great.
In particular, Luke Walsh had a good game in his final game?
Walshy is a leader within our group and really stood up because we really didn't have anything to play for but we cared where we came on the ladder and even though we couldn't make the semis we came with the intent on winning the game.
What have been some of the positives to come out of this year?
I think to see the improvement in a lot of players has been pleasing and as a club to build our culture has been a big boost.
What players have impressed you the most?
It's hard to single one out but the emergence of youngsters like Matt Moylan, Adam Docker and Isaac John has been a big boost and given us a really good chance to make the eight.
How have you judged your own form this year?
It's been a bit hard to rate my form because I've been playing different positions. Personally, as long as the team is winning and I am helping to make that happen I am happy.
How have you found the challenge of switching between hooker and lock?
It's been very different and a big learning curve. I have never played lock before so it has been challenging but rotating with James [Segeyaro] has worked well for the team.
How have you found the extra responsibility of being captain?
I've enjoyed it. It's a difficult role sometimes, but this year the boys have made me look good, especially the way they have taken instructions and run with it which has made my job easy.
It must be good to know you will be a Panther in 2014?
It's a massive relief. I love playing here and now I can concentrate on playing footy and being a leader in the club.
As for your pick for the premiership in 2013?
The Roosters. Both times we've played them, they were very strong.
