Firefighters have been kept busy containing a bushfire burning in Woodcroft for the past hour and a half.
‘‘It came up behind some houses which have been protected, together with Marayong South Public School,’’ NSW Fire and Rescue Superintendent Ian Krimmer said with reference to a fire at Woodcroft Drive and Lantana Street, Woodcroft.
He said everything was under control, as of 2.13pm.
Superintendent Krimmer said six fire crews from Fire Rescue NSW and the Rural Fire Service were called to attend a bushfire in a Doonside bushland reserve at 1.02pm.
‘‘The fire has come out of the bushland in Woodcroft,’’ he said.
‘‘Police and ambulance are in attendance.
‘‘A police officer was treated for minor eye injury.’’
At 2.10pm the status of this fire was listed as ‘‘out of control’’ on the RFS website.
It is currently at an ‘‘advice’’ alert level.
