A two-year-old boy is being treated for ‘‘critical injuries’’ and a male driver is in a ‘‘serious’’ condition after a car accident in Telopea on Friday, emergency services said.
CareFlight helicopter trauma doctors were flown to the scene near the intersection of Telopea and Grace streetsto help paramedics soon after 1pm.
A spokesman for CarFlight said doctors, paramedics and Fire and rescue officers found the victims in a car that had crashed into a power pole.
A CareFlight doctor rode with paramedics to treat the boy as he was taken by ambulance to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Another doctor continued treatment of the man who suffered multiple injuries, the spokesman said, as he was taken by ambulance to Westmead Hospital.
