A truck lost a load of asbestos before crashing at Eastern Creek last Saturday.
Police said at 11am a tipper truck was travelling south along the M7 when it left the motorway at Wallgrove Road.
While travelling along the off-ramp the truck lost its load of asbestos waste before crashing into the cement guard rail.
Police and Fire & Rescue NSW attended the scene and the off-ramp was closed while several tonnes of asbestos sheeting was hosed down and contained.
The incident happened a week after police warned motorists about the dangers of unsecured loads which can lead to accidents or serious injury.
Motorists are being urged to secure their loads adequately or risk heavy fines.
Man charged after stabbing
Police have arrested a man over a stabbing at Marayong last Friday.
A 30-year-old man was detained at the scene and taken to Quakers Hill police station where he was charged with recklessly cause grievous bodily harm.
The incident happened at 9.45pm when emergency services were called to a house in Shedworth Street where they found a man with stab wound to his left hand.
The 34-year-old was taken to Blacktown Hospital for treatment.
Police from Quakers Hill attended.
The man was charged with the offence at Parramatta Local Court last Saturday.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information that could assist in the investigation.
