Reader of the Week, Vanessa Mendel

Meet our reader of the Week, Vanessa Mendel, of Barnier Public School.

Three people I would love to invite to dinner: Taylor Swift, Jamie Oliver and my best friend Lex - so I'd have amazing music, delicious food and guaranteed great company!

The best advice I ever received was: Live every moment as if it were your last.

The most amazing thing I've ever done is: Take a helicopter ride over Queenstown, New Zealand with my boyfriend, who thankfully wasn't afraid of heights!

If I was down to my last $10 I would  spent it on: DVD rentals at the video shop because watching them would keep me busy for hours.

My greatest fear is: Being surrounded by cockroaches…eewww!

My fantasy job is: Exactly what I am doing now, a primary school teacher.

If I could have a super power it would be: To freeze time, especially on great days like Christmas were you want to just soak it all in slowly.

My favourite phrase is... Dance like no one is watching, sing like no one is listening, love like you've never been hurt and live each day like it's your last.

My hidden talent is: I can put my feet on my head!

If I could travel back in time, I would love to see/meet: My grandparents who I didn't get a chance to meet and Marilyn Monroe.

The one thing I will never throw out: My year 3 homework book. I show my class this each year to prove that even I had to do homework once too!

True love is… Knowing you can completely be yourself around someone and be loved in return.

My last meal would be: Mums famous potato bake, yum!

My first car was: A white Hyundai excel.

I'm always being asked: ''How was your day?" Isn't that nice!

My most embarrassing moment was... Smiling for a photo with food stuck to my tooth..eek!

What people may not know about me is: I love to sing in the car, even if there isn't any music playing!

Wierdest thing in my glovebox: A fork.

My biggest fashion faux pas was: Wearing knee high, rainbow striped toe socks

I wish I hadn't: Bought so many new clothes on the weekend

My earliest memory is: Making designer cakes out of mud in the backyard with my younger brothers

On my bedside table is: A lamp, an IPod dock/ clock and a photo of my boyfriend and I.

People say I look like: Vanessa Hudgens, but I think it's just the long brown hair and same first name that gets people!

A movie I think everyone should  see: The Wizard of Oz, an all-time classic!

In the future… Mobile phones will probably be able to make your morning coffee..at least I'm hoping they will!

Favourite book as a child: Matilda by Roald Dahl
