Historical wheel keeps turning

THE legacy of the disbanded St Marys Inner Wheel will continue after memorabilia was presented to St Marys Historical Society (pictured).

St Marys Inner Wheel was founded in April 1958, consisting of ladies whose husbands were Rotary members.

They met on the second Wednesday of each month with the aim of encouraging friendship, fostering the ideals of service, having fun and inspiring happiness.

St Marys Inner Wheel was disbanded a few months ago after being in existence for 55 years.

Club memorabilia was handed over to St Marys Historical Society last week.

The memorabilia will be on display at the St Marys & District Historical Society Chamber at 29 Swanston Street, St Marys.

It's part of St Marys history and will be a reminder for future generations about groups like Inner Wheel who made St Marys what it is today.

St Marys Rotary thanked Inner Wheel members who continued to support the club.
