Children aged 6-12 can show their creativity through a series of water-themed workshops at Blacktown Arts Centre until January 17, 10am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 3.30pm.
The workshops are:
■ A Drop in the Ocean: Create dramatic, eye-catching artworks;
■ Water Prints: Learn carving and print-making techniques to create a patchwork painting of cool colours and water movement;
■ The Power of Water: Just add water to print marbled creations and design amazing chalk art; and
■ Make a Mer-Puppet: Have fun making a mermaid or merman puppet, and decorate these aquatic creatures.
Single workshops cost $15 ($12 concession) per child or a full day (two workshops) costs $25 ($20 concession) per person.
Fees include materials and participants can take home their works of art.
Participants need to wear old clothes, bring a drink and a healthy snack and a packed lunch (if you are staying for the whole day).
