Police are appealing for witnesses to this morning’s suspicious house fire in Quakers Hill.
Police say a 58-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man were awoken to a loud noise coming from the lower level of their Pentland Street house about 1.15am today (Tuesday).
A small fire was discovered which police believe was set off by a Molotov cocktail.
The fire brigade was called to put out the fire and a crime scene established.
No one was injured and minimal damage was caused to the home.

Fight at pub
A man is assisting police in connection with a fight between patrons at a Toongabbie hotel last night (January 14).
Police said at about 6.50pm a man walked into a licensed premises on Aurelia Street and picked up a chair.
Witnesses told police the chair was smashed on to a table where four people were seated.
The man was confronted by one of the men.
Another patron removed the chair from the 45–year-old who was then assaulted by a 59–year-old man.
The 45-year-old received minor injuries and was treated by paramedics, while the 59-year-old was arrested and is assisting with inquiries at Merrylands police station.
NSW Police Transport Command officers arrested a man in connection with a robbery at Blacktown on Sunday.
Police said at about 4.20pm officers were patrolling near Blacktown railway station when they responded to a report of a robbery in nearby Second Avenue.
On their way to the scene they arrested a man fitting the description of the offender.
It is alleged the man struck a 15-year-old girl in the face before taking her mobile phone.
Police will also allege they found this phone and two others in the man’s possession.
The 24-year-old man was taken to Blacktown police station, where detectives charged him with aggravated robbery.
Two people were attacked during a home invasion at Blacktown on Wednesday.
Police said at about 8.45pm a woman, 45, and a man, 61, were in a house int Sackville Street when there was a knock at the door.
Three men — two of islander appearance and one caucasian — threatened to kick the door in if it wasn’t opened.
The woman opened the door and the three men ran inside and punched and kicked the 61-year-old man while the woman attempted to intervene.
The three men ran from the house and drove off in a small white car with a sunroof.
Both victims sustained minor injuries.
Hit with pool cue
A fight erupted at a licensed premises in David Lane, Blacktown last Thursday.
Police said a 51-year-old man was playing pool with a 25-year-old man when a fight erupted between them.
The younger man hit the older one on the head with a pool cue, causing a cut which later required 11 stitches.
The 25-year-old was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and will appear in Parramatta Local court on March 13.
A woman’s handbag was stolen while she stood at her front door in Covney Street, Doonside last Friday.
Police said at about 5.20pm the woman, 31, was approached by a man and a boy asking for a glass of water.
The man then grabbed the woman’s handbag from her shoulder and he and the child ran off.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 19, 170cm tall with skinny build and wearing a blue T-shirt and red shorts.
The boy is also of Caucasian appearance and was chubby and wearing a shirt and shorts.
A woman will appear before Blacktown Local Court after a shoplifting spree in Mt Druitt and Blacktown.
Police said between 9am and 10.30am last Saturday a 23-year-old Plumpton woman went to three stores in a Mt Druitt shopping centre and another three stores in a Blacktown shopping centre where it’s alleged she stole several items.
A woman’s wallet was stolen as she walked through Captain Cook Memorial Reserve on Bungarribee Road, in Blacktown with her groceries on Sunday.
Police said two men came up behind the 76-year-old and took the wallet from under her left armpit.
The two men were last seen running down a laneway towards Herewood Highway.
They were described to police as being in their early 20s, dark complexion (possibly Aboriginal/Torres Strait islander appearance), wearing black shirts and black pants.
One of them was on a pushbike.
A 24-year-old man was charged with aggravated robbery and will appear before Blacktown Local Court later this month following an incident at Blacktown train station on Sunday.
Police allege that at 5.15pm a 15-year-old Woy Woy girl and a 15-year-old Blue Haven girl were at Blacktown station when they were confronted by the man who demanded money.
The girls ran from the station and hid in Boys Avenue.
A short time later the man found them hiding and again demanded money from them.
The girls tried to walk away, but it’s alleged the man punched one of the girls inn the face before snatching her mobile phone.
Police were called and found the man at Blacktown train station with the mobile phone.
A man was assaulted by two women in the lift at Blacktown railway station on Sunday, January 12.
Police said at about 5.45pm a 60-year-old Umina Beach man entered the lift on platform six.
Before the doors closed two women entered the lift, one of whom was pushing a pram with a young child in it.
The two women verbally abused the man before assaulting him.
Police said when the lift doors opened at the concourse, a third woman entered the lift, removed the pram, returned to the lift and assaulted the man.
All three women then left the area.
The man was taken by ambulance to Blacktown hospital where he was treated for minor injuries to his face.
The first woman is described as of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, 24 to 30 years old, wearing an aqua long-sleeved top, a black and white striped shirt and a purple clip in her hair.
The second woman was also of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, 24 to 30 years old, wearing a black and white striped shirt and a black skirt.
The third was of Mediterranean appearance, 22 to 30 years old, wearing a black top, three-quarter length black shorts and her hair tied back in a ponytail.
Police are appealing for information following an assault in Rooty Hill last Saturday.
Police said at about 1.45am, a 20-year-old man was walking with friends along Rupertswood Road when the group were approached by a man who punched the 20-year-old in the head, causing him to fall to the ground, before assaulting him again.
He then fled the location with two other men.
Officers from Mt Druitt local area command were called and attended a short time later.
The injured man was treated by paramedics for a suspected broken nose before being taken to Nepean Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Police have charged a man over the alleged sexual assault of a woman in Woodcroft last Thursday.
Police said at about 8.30pm, a 20-year-old woman was jogging near Waterside Grove at Woodcroft Lakes, when she was approached by a man.
The man sexually assaulted her before running towards Antique Crescent.
The woman contacted emergency services and was taken to Westmead Hospital.
Police conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area, with the assistance of the dog squad, before a 19-year-old man was arrested at a home in Woodcroft around midnight.
The man was taken to Blacktown police station where he was charged with sexual assault (two counts) and refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court later this month.
