A free Bollywood Under the Stars family event will be held at The Ponds to mark Australia Day/Indian Republic Day on Sunday, January 26.
It will be at Ironbark Lake Park, on the corner of Claret Avenue and Lomandra Crescent, from 5pm to 10.30pm.
It is being organised by the Council of Indian Australians which represents 400,000 members of the Indian community in Australia.
The council's president, Subba Rao Varigonda, said this event would be its first major one for the year.
"The council welcomes all Indian Australians and community groups to strengthen the council by becoming active members of this great institution," he said.
He said Indians were proud Australians and were taking this opportunity to educate multicultural Australia on Indian heritage.
"We will be screening the popular comedy The Three Idiots," he said.
There will also be karaoke songs and music from 5pm to 7.30pm before the screening of the film.
"The council welcomes everyone to come and enjoy the evening and celebrate the Australia Day/Indian Independence Day," he said.
Food can be purchased from 5pm and onwards from the food counters which will be organised by Maya Da Dhaba, the official caterer.
