Blacktown defeated by Manly outfit

Blacktown first grade cricket team tumbled to a 70-run loss against Manly at Joe McAleer Oval on Saturday.

In the one-day game, Blacktown replied with just 105 chasing Manly's 175.

Nathan Sowter was the star with the ball, taking 4-38.

Sowter has been a consistent performer all summer.

Wicketkeeper Tim Doonan topscored with 27 and Sowter made 20, in a disappointing batting performance.

Blacktown have just two wins this season and are on 12 points.

Last year's finalists are now playing for pride and aim to finish the competition the best they can in the 2013-14 season.

In round 10, Blacktown play Eastern Suburbs in a 50-overs-side game at Waverley Oval on Saturday at 10am.
