STANHOPE Gardens customers will soon have more places to eat under the stars.
Mirvac investment and development manager Robert Beck said the next phase of Stanhope Village would include a new indoor and alfresco dining area facing on to Sentry Drive, with additional food outlets that will be open into the evening.
A new air-conditioned customer walkway would also be created between the two existing malls.
"Our objective is to create more of a village ambience around fresh food, cafes and services, in line with customer feedback," Mr Beck said.
New toilets and a new parents' room, designed to achieve a 5-star Australian Breast Feeding Association rating, would also be built and the outdoor children's play area relocated and improved.
"This builds on the success of the stage 3 development [which opened in August 2013] and represents an additional investment of $18.7 million by Mirvac," Mr Beck said.
Work is due to start late this month.
About 70 jobs will be created during the construction phase and about 50 full-time retail jobs created by the project's end in late March 2015. The centre will trade as usual during construction.
