Loads of fun on the big day

There is no excuse for staying at home on Australia Day — there is something for everyone.

Citizenship Ceremony: 11am, Bowman Hall, Campbell Street, Blacktown, for 178 residents. The ceremony will include the reading of oaths, an address from Blacktown City's youth ambassadors, Blacktown City's Australia Day ambassador Geoff Lawson and the presentation of certificates.

Celebrations on The Rooty Hill: 4pm-9.30pm, Eastern Road, Rooty Hill. Family friendly, alcohol-free. Limited free parking is available.

Free amusement rides, an amazing parachute jump with the largest flag in the southern hemisphere, and a fireworks spectacular.

The afternoon will feature on-stage performances by Darren Percival and The Collective.

Grab a snag and have some fun on Australia Day to support the NSW Rural Fire Service at Bunnings, Seven Hills.

There will also be Aussie-themed games such as throw the dunny roll in the loo and thong throwing, a jumping castle and plenty of prizes.
