A missing seven-week-old beagle named Bentley has been reunited with his family in The Ponds with the help of Mt Druitt police.
Bentley is several kilograms heavier due to all the lunches he’s shared lunches with police officers and staff at the Mt Druitt station.
He had been stolen from a house in The Ponds last Thursday.
Bentley’s family lost many items as a result of the break-in but none more valuable than their new addition.
Their four children had put up signs about Bentley around the area.
Acting on information a Mount Druitt police pro-active team went to house at Glendenning where they found Bentley on January 31.
Team members questioned the occupants about the beagle before taking the animal to a vet for its microchip ownership details to be confirmed.
Police then contacted Bentley’s family before sending him home.
