Money found

A member of the public handed over a large sum of money he found in Blacktown CBD area on Sunday.

Police are appealing to anyone who has lost  the money to contact them.

They can phone Blacktown police on 96719199 or go to the police station on Kildare Road.

Four cars, one bike in crash

Three people were taken to Blacktown Hospital after an incident involving a motorcycle and four cars in Blacktown last Monday.

Police said the accident happened on the M4 east about 300 metres from the Prospect Highway exit ramp at about 7am.

Police said a white car collided with the rear of a motorcycle, which pushed into the rear of a silver car which ran into the back of a black car.

The impact caused the rider to be thrown from his bike and landed in the lane to the left.

A silver car travelling in the lane took evasive action to avoid hitting the motorcyclist.

A red car travelling behind could not stop in time and collided with the rear of  another car.

The 46-year-old rider from the ACT was taken to hospital with a possible fracture to his vertebrae. 

A 25-year-old woman driver from Cambridge Park was taken to hospital for treatment of shock and minor lacerations.

A 32-year old woman driver from South Penrith was taken to hospital as a precaution due to her being 33 weeks but was later released.

The wrong licence

A 34-year-old woman was charged with being an unlicensed driver when she produced an overseas licence after she was stopped for a random breath test in Doonside by police last Wednesday. 

Police told her she was required to have a NSW driving licence as she had been a permanent resident for more than two years. 

The incident took place on Doonside Road at about 10.45am.

The Doonside woman was issued with a court attendance notice to appear before the Blacktown Local Court next month.

Drugs found

A 44-year-old Doonside man was charged with theft and having a small amount of illegal drugs after he was found behaving in an odd manner in Blacktown last Thursday.

Police were called after he was seen waving a pair of steel scissors and rambling incoherently in a store on Main Street at about 12.50pm.

They discovered he had taken an unattended bag, put a library magazine inside and walked out from Blacktown library at noon.

He was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of an illegal drug.

He will appear before Blacktown Local Court on March 6 charged with shoplifting, stealing and possession of prohibited drug.

Shoplifting charges

Three teenage girls were arrested for stealing about $493 worth of perfume from a store in Blacktown last Thursday.

Police said they will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act and will each receive a youth caution at a later date in February.

The girls are a 17-year-old from Penrith, a 17-year-old from Cranebrook and a 16-year-old from Kings Park.

Punched in the mouth

Police are looking for three people including one who punched a 15-year-old girl in the mouth in Blacktown last Friday. 

Police said the girl was with her friend on a bus when she was threatened by a woman at about 1.10pm.

When the bus arrived at Blacktown interchange the woman waited for her and her friends so the girls stayed on the bus.

Police said a second woman got onto the bus and punched the girl in the mouth.

Both women and a male then left the area.

The first woman is described as of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 170cm tall, large build, wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and long hair in a low pony tail.

The second woman was of Caucasian appearance, about 160cm tall, medium build, wearing a pink T-shirt and black tights and had her hair tied back.

The man was of Caucasian appearance, slim build, wearing a white T-shirt, blue shorts and a blue cap.
