A child was struck by a car in Blacktown on Friday.
The five-year-old boy was hit in Maud Street at about 5.15pm.
Police said it appeared the boy ran out into the street.
The driver of the car, a 34-year-old man, stopped his vehicle and looked after the boy until paramedics arrived.
They took him to Westmead Children's Hospital where he was treated for bruising, but his condition was described as stable.
Police are continuing their inquiries but said they do not expect to lay any charges over the incident.
